11 children were killed and another injured in a waste munitions explosion in the Republic of South Sudan. Linda Tom, spokeswoman for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan UNIMIS, said the incident took place in a remote village in West Bahr El. Gazelle State, northwest of the capital Juba.

She explained that the scale of this tragedy is enormous, noting that the danger of the explosion of the remnants of ammunition still exists, especially in light of the presence of bombs buried underground, which must be removed and dismantled out of fear for the lives of civilians.
