French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that European security rules are out of date and existing arms control agreements are outdated.
“At a time when Russia demands stability and guarantees, stability and guarantees are also demanded by us,” Le Drian told the “Financial Times” newspaper.
“Europe needs guarantees of security and stability, and we are ready to discuss that and discuss anything,” he said.
Commenting on Russia’s announcement that it will withdraw some forces from its western borders after the end of the exercises, Le Drian said that how the exercises will result in the borders of Belarus, Black Sea and Ukraine should be evaluated.
It is noteworthy that Russia continues to consult with Western countries and NATO on Moscow’s security guarantee proposals.
