The French President announced today that French President Emmanuel Macron has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Jean Castix and his government.
France’s Presidential Palace (Palace Élysée) said in a statement that “Prime Minister Jean Castix has submitted the resignation of his government to French President Emmanuel Macron, who has accepted it.
The statement said the outgoing government will continue to deal with urgent business until a new government is formed.
He added that French President Emmanuel Macron had chosen Labor Minister Elisabeth Born as prime minister and she would be tasked with forming a government.
