Saudi-American partnership and aspects of strategic cooperation in the current and future defense and military fields were the main topics of joint discussions between Deputy Secretary of Defense HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in the American capital, Washington. strategic relations between the two friendly countries were discussed. His Highness expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation for the close cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries and for the efforts of US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to push them to a wider horizon, so as to achieve the common interests of the two countries and strengthen security and peace at the regional and international levels, while negotiations took place within the framework of the meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Committee between the two countries. The Deputy Secretary of Defense led the Saudi side at the meeting of the Joint Committee on Strategic Planning between the Kingdom and US Departments of Defense, while the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs Dr. Colin Cale led the American side. During the meeting, the development of events and rapid changes at the regional and international levels, as well as the discussion of many issues and files within the vision of the two countries to protect common interests, maintain international security and peace.
