Yesterday, on Monday, at the Pakhtakor stadium in Tashkent, our team played a draw with its Japanese colleague 0:0 in the second round of the group competition of the Asian Cup-2022 among boys under 23 in Uzbekistan.

Japan ended the match with ten men after midfielder Shota Fujio was sent off in the 79th minute after citing a video assistant referee (VAR) technique following a foul against Awad Al-Nashiri.

Al-Akhdar retained first place in the group with 4 points in two goal difference matches against Japan.

The most dangerous opportunity for the Japanese came in the 36th minute with Saito, who advanced the ball from the left side and delivered a graceful shot from the edge of the penalty area, the genius of our goalkeeper kept him.

As the second half began, Al Akhdar played in a different style, putting heavy pressure on the player in possession of the ball and trying to get close to the goal of Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

Our team’s most notable chances came in the 73rd minute at Turki Al-Ammar, who advanced down the left flank and shot from the edge of the penalty area, when goalkeeper Suzuki saved him for a corner.

After Fujio was sent off by the Japanese in the 79th minute, our team tried to take advantage of the numerical advantage, and Al-Ammar shot, but goalkeeper Suzuki pushed the ball away for a corner, ending the match in a goalless draw.
