Spanish club Almería, owned by Chancellor Turki Al-Sheikh, is expecting 20% of the transfer of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from Portuguese side Benfica to Liverpool after a deal valued at 100 million euros.
Spanish side Almería agreed to transfer Nunez to Benfica for 24 million euros in June 2020, on the condition that 20% of that money would be sold by the Portuguese club in the future.
Benfica said the deal was for 75 million euros (about $78 million) and with other benefits worth 100 million euros ($104 million).
Nunes, 22, scored 34 goals in 41 games for his Portuguese club in all competitions last season.
A €75m deal for defender Virgil van Dijk in 2018 was the highest until Liverpool secured the most expensive deal in the club’s ancient history, signing young striker Darwin Nunez for up to €100m.
