Somali security forces killed 60 members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group in the state of Galmudug, Baddu region.
Ahmed Falghali, Somali State Information Minister, said the terrorists had suffered heavy losses as they were defeated by Somali forces hunting down the remnants of terrorist cells.
For his part, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud praised the people of the city of Haddou for their sacrifice and dedication in defending themselves against the Al-Shabaab terrorists who violently attacked the city this morning.
It is noteworthy that the Somali army has recently stepped up its military operations to eliminate the remnants of the extremist al-Shabaab militia, which are present in the few areas left by the rebels.
