The Public Security Directorate said on Thursday that a girl died at a private university in northern Amman after someone shot at her and fled.
A number of local newspapers quoted the department’s statement: “After hitting the girl with a bullet, she died from her injuries and the investigation is still ongoing.” The statement added: “As a result of the accident, the student was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and the perpetrator fled, and an investigation was launched to identify him and arrest him.”
A spokesman for the Amer Al-Sartawi department said the man shot at the girl, who was taken to the hospital and her condition was poor. And the security services launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator and arrest him.
Communications pioneers released a photo of the victim, Iman Muayyad Irshaid, who is reportedly studying at the Rafaida College of Nursing at the University of Applied Sciences. According to widespread information, the student was at the university for an exam, at that moment the attacker fired 6 bullets at her.
They also circulated a message sent to the victim by the killer, in which he promised to kill her in the same way that Egyptian assassin Muhammad Adel killed student Naira Ashraf.
According to sources, “the shooter is not from the university, and he is no more than 24 years old.”
