In light of Barcelona’s difficult financial situation, Lewandowski’s contract could be linked to other deals, including the departure of Dutch international Frankie de Jong to Manchester United in a €65m deal that would give the Catalan club funding is needed to settle the contract with Barcelona.

Earlier this month, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salimadzic confirmed his commitment to Lewandowski before his contract expires next year.

“I have clearly explained our position regarding the status of his contract,” Salimadzic told Bild, referring to a phone call he had with the 33-year-old Polish player on Tuesday.

And Lewandowski said at the end of May that his “story” with the German club “ends” during a press conference with the Polish national team, later justifying this situation with a desire to seek “an additional passion in life.” .”

Lewandowski has been defending the Bayern club since 2014, scoring 344 goals, and his current contract expires at the end of 2023, which means staying at Bayern for an extra season without renewing his contract will make him a free player next season and go to free.
