Paris Saint-Germain, French football champions, have signed Porto midfielder Vitina as part of the Paris club’s first contract of the new season.

And the cost of the deal with the 22-year-old player was estimated by the media at about 40 million euros (42 million dollars) for a period of five years.

“I finished my best season at Porto, won trophies and managed to become an international player and that was my dream,” the newcomer said on the Paris club’s website.

“I want to keep improving, I want to do it here and keep winning titles,” he added, describing himself as “technical” and “attack-oriented.”

Less than a month after announcing a contract extension for striker Kylian Mbappe until 2025, Qatari side Saint-Germain are expecting manager Christophe Galtier to join to replace Argentina’s Mauricio Pochettino.

Vitor Machado Ferreira ‘Vitina’, one of the sons of Porto’s formative centre, was loaned out to Wolverhampton Wolves in the 2020-2021 season, where he played 22 games.

He returned to the Dragon team last season and established himself at center, where he made 47 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.

Under coach Sergio Conceicao, he won a double in the League Cup in Portugal, which enabled the team to play 3 international matches in March.
