The Co-Chair of the Constitutional Committee informed the delegation of the Syrian Negotiating Committee, Hadi al-Bahra, that he had received an official letter from the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Syria, Geir Pederson, stating that the ninth session of the meetings of the Constitutional Committee had been postponed after the joint President appointed by the Syrian government, informed him that his delegation would be ready to participate in the ninth session only after he called “requests from the Russian Federation” satisfied.
Pedersen said at a briefing last June at the Security Council on Syria that formal invitations had been sent out to attend the ninth session of the Constitutional Committee, scheduled for July 25 in Geneva, Switzerland.
And that he provided the two co-chairs with ideas on how to accelerate the pace of work and achieve results and continued progress, and expressed the hope that he would soon receive answers to these ideas from them.
