The Congolese army announced today that about 20 people have been killed in attacks by gunmen on two villages in eastern Congo over the past two days. Military sources said gunmen killed residents and burned houses in the villages of Kandwe and Bandipoli in Ituri province. over the past two days, noting that the Congolese forces were pursuing the attackers.
