The Washington Post reported Friday that FBI agents were looking for documents related to nuclear weapons when they ransacked former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida this week.

The newspaper added that it was not clear if they had found those documents.

Sources of the American newspaper, who asked not to be named, did not provide details about the nature of the documents the FBI is looking for, whether they relate to weapons belonging to the United States or foreign countries, and whether the investigating authorities managed to gain access. these documents, while the FBI refused. The FRS declined to comment on this information.

For his part, former US President Donald Trump refused to answer 440 questions during his investigations, taking advantage of the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution.

On Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he had “personally certified” a search warrant for former President Trump’s home in Florida, stressing that there was a “possible reason” for the unprecedented move.

Garland did not explain why the search was ordered, but stressed that there was a “possible reason” and said he asked the court to release the case documents.

“I personally approved the decision to issue a search warrant in this case,” he said at a press conference, stressing that “the ministry does not take such a decision lightly.”

Threats and calls to take up arms circulated online after Trump himself announced the raid on his Florida home.

The raid at Trump’s residence is part of an investigation into whether Trump took secret records from the White House to his Florida residence.

The Justice Department is investigating mishandling of classified information after the National Archives and Records Administration said it received 15 boxes of White House records earlier this year, including documents containing classified information.
