Muammar al-Eryani, Yemeni Minister of Information and Culture, said the confessions of a Houthi cell captured by joint forces on the west coast confirm arms smuggling from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas to the ports of Hodeidah under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, noting that this confirms the continued supply of weapons to the militias by Tehran, in flagrant defiance and flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions regarding the Yemeni crisis. Al-Eryani stressed that the confessions also confirm Iran’s role in undermining peace efforts and using the Houthi militias as a tool to kill Yemenis, destabilize Yemen’s security and stability, spread chaos and terrorism in the region, and threaten international interests. The militia took advantage of the Stockholm Agreement to use the ports of Hodeidah as a window to smuggle Iranian weapons into Yemen and stop the Houthi terrorist group from smuggling weapons.
