The Iraqi Security Service reported yesterday that the Joint Operations Command received 50 Iraqi-based ISIS fighters from the Syrian side following their arrest on Syrian territory.
She explained that the process of accepting ISIS fighters by the Syrian side passed through the Rabia border crossing, noting that the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Interior of Iraq will complete the necessary procedures for ISIS fighters who were transferred by the Syrian side. Iraq, and the statement indicated that the Joint Operations Command continues to monitor terrorist elements both inside and outside of Iraq.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi authorities in early June announced the admission of 50 members of the organization from among the Kurdish forces, and a military source explained then that there were “3,500 Iraqi prisoners” in the prisons of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
In addition, the Kurdish Autonomous Administration yesterday handed over to the Iraqi government about 700 people, most of whom are family members of ISIS fighters detained in a camp in northeast Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
