An employee from the Indian Forest Conservation Authority shared a video clip of a man pulling on a leopard’s tail as the animal looks weak and struggles to escape, angering social media users.
The clip shows a man pulling the leopard’s tail and leg while others take pictures and smile into their cameras during filming, with no concern for the animal’s suffering. The text accompanying the video read: “What kind of humanity is this, an innocent animal has died.” The whereabouts of the video is unknown, as it came through the officer’s WhatsApp app, who tweeted: “This is not the way to deal with our friends in the wild, they are also living beings, we must be careful,” according to the India Express newspaper.
The video outraged netizens who urged the man to sue. One communication site pioneer said, “The same punishment should be applied to a man and dragged out into the street,” while another user commented, “It’s sad to see such behavior that shows a lack of humanity.”
