The Fajr Walkers continue to attract more walkers after the Sports for All app contributed; Launched by the Saudi Sports Federation for All to represent the group, bringing the number of participants under its banner to approximately 150 members of all age groups in a short record period.
The most important pillar on which the Fajr Walkers are based is the work of spreading the culture of walking among the members of the community; To build a healthy sports community and its role in combating many of today’s chronic diseases, especially “obesity”, which intersects with the goals of the Vision 2030 of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the goals of the Global Plan for Sustainable Development until 2030.
On this idea, its origins and its implications, the leader of the group, retired Major General Khaled Al-Sharif, states that “the beginning was through four teachers whose visions were combined by walking and doing various exercises to maintain their health, then I joined him, and in mid-January last year (2021), we created our group through the application (Sports for All), which will be approved later, with the grace of God.”
Joining the app (Sports for All) – and Al-Sharif’s Hadith – contributed to the daily entry of new members to the Fajr Walkers group, until today the number of people in the WhatsApp group reached 100 members, while the number of those who joined through the application The Saudi Sports Federation for All, which is supported by the Ministry of Sports, has about 150 members.
