Gulf Cooperation Council urges international community to support ‘Yemeni leadership’

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Nayef Al-Hajraf urged the international community to support the Yemeni Governing Council and increase pressure on the Houthis; Achieving security and peace in Yemen and participating in a political settlement of the crisis in accordance with UN guidance. This happened yesterday during a meeting between Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Ambassador Timothy Lenderking, Special Envoy of the United States of America to Yemen, at the General Secretariat Headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, international efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, represented by a truce announced by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, and the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to put pressure on the Houthis group, to engage seriously in the peace process to resolve the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the UN recommendations, were considered.
