Russian State Duma Spokesperson Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that Ukrainians have no reason to fear the Russian operation in their country, because its aim is only to disarm Ukraine.
“Citizens of Ukraine should not be afraid of the peacekeeping operation because it only aims at the disarmament of Ukraine,” he told members of the National Assembly of Nicaragua.
“The decision of the President of Russia to launch this peacekeeping operation is aimed at preventing a humanitarian catastrophe and a large-scale war,” he said.
Ukraine should be a free, independent, democratic and peaceful country, get rid of the anti-people regime with its nationalist ideology and begin to develop for the benefit of its citizens.
“NATO cannot solve the problem of the security of its members at the expense of the security of others,” said Volodin.
“The time has come for the United States to stop,” he said.
