At least 24 people have died and more than 20 are missing after a boat capsized in a river in Bangladesh.
Local police officer Shafik al-Islam said a boat carrying more than 50 people, including women and children, capsized in the Karutwa River near Buda in northern Bangladesh, and the search for the missing continues.
Bangladesh makes extensive use of water transport to transport people and goods, as many of the country’s rivers flow.
