Cycling Federation launches first women’s league

The Saudi Arabian Cycling Federation has announced the launch of the first edition of the Federation of the Women’s Road Racing League, in line with the schedule set by the Federation through the Women’s Sports Support Program.

The schedule of Federation Women’s League Championships, which will start on October 14 next year, will include 7 championships, the individual Kingdom Champions time trial and the overall individual Kingdom Champions race, where the total distances of these races will be approximately 625 kilometers in 7 different regions of the Kingdom.

For her part, Her Highness Princess Mashael bint Faisal, Chairman of the Women’s Committee of the Saudi Cycling Federation, explained that this announcement is a milestone for the launch of competitive women’s cycling between clubs, noting that launching the first official league in the Kingdom was one of the most important goals of the Women’s Committee. .

Her Highness indicated that the Technical Committee had completed the preparation of all technical and road racing regulations, emphasizing the Technical Committee’s commitment to their implementation and enforcement. Due to the importance of this release at the level of the federation’s strategic goals, he thanked His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, for his unrestricted support and praised the President. Saudi Arabia Cycling Federation to Abdullah bin Ali Al Watlan for his support and follow up.

Notably, Al Ettifak Club is the first club in the Kingdom to step up women’s cycling, followed by Al Raed Club, Riyadh Club and Al Khalij Club. Life in Supporting Women in Various Sectors to Achieve Goals Kingdom Vision 2030.
