Florida residents spotted a shark swimming in flood waters caused by Hurricane Yan.
This came after the Lake County Fire Chief warned that “as water levels rise, some amphibians such as snakes and crocodiles will emerge from the marshes.”
Hurricane Ian hit western Florida on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by strong winds of 240 kilometers per hour and heavy rain, which led to a power outage in a million homes in the South American state.
The US Hurricane Center reported that “Ian” entered the US from the coast of Cayo Costa in southwest Florida at 15:05 (19:05 GMT), indicating that it is a Category 4 hurricane on an ascending scale of 5 degrees. The Miami-based center warned Jan was a “very dangerous hurricane” and had already caused “catastrophic” flooding.
