Qatari authorities announced on Thursday that the Covid vaccine will not be mandatory for fans who travel to the World Cup later this year.
The High Committee on Shipping and Heritage said: “The Ministry of Health has lifted quarantine procedures for all travelers arriving in Qatar, vaccinated or not, regardless of the country of departure.”
All visitors over the age of six must provide a negative Covid test result before boarding a flight to Qatar to compete in the tournament, scheduled to run from November 20 to December 18.
It is also required to present a PCR test certificate with a negative result, valid for 48 hours, or a rapid antigen test (rapid test) with a negative result, valid for 24 hours, from the date of the scheduled flight to Qatar, noting that the express test – Tests are not valid for travelers, according to the website of the Ministry of Health.
According to the committee, “if any infection with the virus is detected, he will be subjected to sanitary isolation measures in accordance with the procedures of the ministry” through isolation for five days and then wearing a muzzle for five days.
The committee emphasized that “wearing a mask is mandatory in all medical institutions and public transport.”
