MFA: Iranian violations in “Iraqi Kurdistan” violate international law

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the strong condemnation and denunciation by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the Iranian attacks against Kurdistan in Iraq, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of innocent people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its total rejection of all attacks that threaten the security and stability of Iraq, emphasizing the importance of the international community confronting all Iranian violations that violate international laws, charters and norms.

13 people died, dozens were injured

Earlier, the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service reported the death of 13 people and the injury of dozens of others as a result of rocket attacks on areas in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq.

On the other hand, an Iraqi security source reported a live bomb that had been planted in front of a citizen’s house in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

A source said in a statement to a news channel (Alsumaria News), “An offensive bomb exploded in front of a citizen’s home in Sadr City in Baghdad,” adding that “the explosion did not result in any significant injury.”

Regarding the shelling of the Green Zone with rockets, the source explained that “there is no shelling of the Green Zone, and allegedly the talk about the attack is not true.”

United Nations: Respect Iraqi Sovereignty

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an end to the escalation in Kurdistan and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq. Civilian areas.

In a statement, Guterres called for an immediate end to the escalation and called for respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, as well as the principle of good neighborly relations.

Arab parliament condemns attack

The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the bombing of several areas of Kurdistan in Iraq, which resulted in several deaths. In general, the Arab Parliament expressed its sincere condolences to Iraq in connection with the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
