In light of escalating tensions between his country and the West, especially the US, amid Russia-Ukraine hostilities now in their eighth month, Russian President Vladimir Putin has renewed his criticism of Washington.

In his speech today, Thursday, at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Astana, Putin believes that security in Asia undermines the American presence.

“Multipolar World”

He also saw that today the world has begun to become multipolar, and Asia plays the most important role in this new order, as he puts it.

In addition, he stressed that Russia is doing everything to create an equal and indivisible security system, as well as to protect development and prosperity in Asia, and to establish strong economic ties in this region.

He also called for the removal of all artificial barriers to restore supply chains of goods around the world. He considered it necessary to use national currencies more effectively in settlements in order to strengthen the sovereignty of states.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the Russian president has spoken of a new world order. In the past, he has repeatedly called for an end to what he called “unipolar” US policies, accusing many European countries of dependence and emphasizing that his country cannot follow Washington’s dictates.

Since the beginning of the Russian military operation on the territory of Ukraine on February 24, tensions have escalated between Russia and the West, especially the United States, which has imposed thousands of sanctions on it, affecting various economic, trade and military spheres, and did not exclude politicians, deputies, ministers and wealthy Russians, including close circle of Putin.
