Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday made a number of statements on the extension of the agreement on the export of grain from Ukraine, the creation of a gas center and relations with Sweden and the United States.

Erdogan said in press statements he made on the return flight from Azerbaijan to Turkey that “there is no objection to the extension of the agreement on the supply of grain through the Black Sea”, adding that he felt this during negotiations with his Ukrainian counterparts Vladimir Zelensky and Russian Vladimir Putin.

Erdogan pointed out that 62 percent of grain shipments from Ukrainian ports went to Europe, and only 5.7 percent, equal to 454,626 tons, reached the least developed countries.

Erdogan said he plans to hold telephone conversations with Presidents Putin and Zelensky in the near future.

Regarding the gas file, Erdogan emphasized that his country is beginning to assess Europe’s energy needs and said: “We will assess what Europe expects and expects regarding the gas distribution center, and we will take steps on that basis.”

Regarding relations with Sweden and its request to join NATO, Erdogan stressed that the new Swedish Prime Minister “supports the fight against terrorism and terrorists” and said: “The Swedish Prime Minister asked for a date to visit Turkey and hold talks with us. ..I said OK, let him come.”

Of the talks to buy F-16 fighter jets from Washington, Erdogan said: “We have done and are doing everything necessary to achieve a positive result, and the global market remains wide and there are various solutions available.”
