Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that until now Moscow would not enter into offers and speculations on the reasons why the Ukrainian delegation did not come to Gomel.
“We are waiting, we will not speculate about the reasons for delaying the arrival of the Ukrainian delegation to Gomel. Maybe they will announce it in more detail and credibility,” the deputy minister told reporters.
The Deputy Minister noted that he heard the statements of the representatives of the President of Ukraine that they do not intend to come to Gomel. “For us, this is actually a sign that indicates the presence or absence of political will or the desire to resolve this conflict peacefully,” he said.
He stressed that Russia is ready for peace and the end of bloodshed in the situation with Ukraine. It is not the meeting place, but what each delegation will bring to the negotiations. We are ready to talk about peace, we are ready to talk about the conditions of stopping the bloodshed that will save people’s lives,” he said.
Rudenko said that Russia does not understand the list of cities proposed by the Ukrainian authorities for negotiations.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he did not agree with Belarusian cities, other cities could be offered.in He noted that the Russian side offered Warsaw, Budapest, Istanbul and Baku as meeting places.
