The Iranian-born British writer lost; Salman Rushdie, the ability to see with one eye with paralysis of one hand as a result of the aftermath of the assassination attempt on August 12, when he took to the stage in New York state at the invitation of the Chatoqua Foundation to give a lecture on creative freedom.
This was explained by his literary agent, Andrew Wylie, who revealed more details, saying: “His wounds were deep, he lost one eye. He had three serious wounds on his neck. One of his arms is unable to move due to nerves in his arm. He has about 15 other injuries in his arm, chest and torso.”
Willie did not say whether Rushdie was still in the hospital or had already been discharged, saying only: “The most important thing is to live.”
