Qatari TV channel Al-Kass reported that officials from Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been coordinating to agree on a mechanism for transporting fans from the Kingdom to Qatar via Salwa Junction to attend World Cup matches.
Under this agreement, Qatari buses will be provided to transport fans of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar approximately 9 kilometers from the Salwa border crossing to the Abu Samra border crossing, as agreed with the Saudi side.
This happened during television statements by engineer Thani Al-Zaraa, director of the Department of Transport Operations of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Heritage, in statements for the Al-Kass channel, which said: “There will be a bus station 9 kilometers before the Salwa border crossing. which will take people to the port of Abu Samra and they will be taken to the port of Salwa to take action.” -Kalayel or downtown Doha at Al Masilah.
For its part, Al-Sharq, a Qatari newspaper, cited a statement by Colonel Dr. Jabr Hamoud Al Nuaimi, a spokesman for the Qatar Ministry of the Interior, about the existence of exceptions for entry through the Abu Samra border crossing, in which he stated: “For such cases such as the presence of families of more than 6 people, travelers or other cases. This will be reviewed and resolved easily and smoothly.”
Regarding the entry of vehicles through the border crossing, he said: “The entry of an exceptional vehicle through the Abu Samra border crossing is a fan who wants to enter Qatar in his car with him, and he must have an arrived and valid card. , and he must have a hotel reservation for at least 5 nights for the driver of the vehicle. After that, he enters to obtain vehicle insurance and pay the prescribed transportation fees of 5000 rials, and passengers must be no less than no more than 3 and no more 6 people.
He concluded his speech by saying, “Parking at Abu Samra Mall is only free for fans working one day, and anyone exceeding one day will be subject to a violation.
