A Ukrainian delegation will meet with Russian officials without preconditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River, confirmed on Sunday the bureau Ukrainian presidential.
In the phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko promised that during the negotiations and the return of the Ukrainian delegation, all aircraft, helicopters and missiles stationed on Belarusian territory will be remain on ground.
Zelensky office noted on the Telegram messaging app that the two parties would meet on an unspecified date location on the Belarusian border and has not give a precise hour for the meeting.
“The politicians agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russians one without preconditions on the border between Ukraine and Belarus, near the Pripyat river,” said Zelensky office noted.
Earlier, Zelenskyy said that son country was ready for peace talks with Russia but not in Belarus, which was a stage for that of Moscow invasion. Speaking in a video message, Zelenskyy named Warsaw, Bratislava, Istanbul, Budapest and Baku as alternative locations. The Kremlin announced on Sunday that a Russian delegation had arrived in Belarusian city of Gomel for talks with Ukrainian officials. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the delegation includes military officials and diplomats.
“The Russian delegation is ready for talks, and we are now waiting for the Ukrainians,” Peskov said.
He also says Ukrainian side chose Belarusian city of gomel like place for peace talks, adding that Moscow has warned Kyiv this military operations will not be interrupted for the duration of the talks.
