The UN Security Council is expected to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s invasiondiplomats said on Sunday.

France “will bring forward A resolution in the United Nations Security Council, starting tomorrow morning, in order at guarantee humanitarian access unrestricted to meet urgent needs of the population in Ukraine”, a statement by Macron office noted.

“Beyond urgent humanitarian action, France also call for a ceasefirefire which must precede any peace negotiation”, the declaration added.

France is one of five permanent members of the Security Council with with the United States, Britain, China and Russia, while 10 other nations are rotating non-permanent members.

Russian vetoes are likely to prevent meaningful action in the UN summit bodysay analysts.

Russia blocks a Council resolution condemning Moscow’s ‘aggression’ in Ukraine on Friday, who saw 11 of the 15 members of the board vote for the motion, co-authored by the United States and Albania.

China, India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) abstained.

The board held three meetings on the russian-ukrainian crisis in the past week.

A few minutes from second one on On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had sent troops to Ukraine.

The advice was also the summoning of a fourth session on Sunday afternoon at vote on a resolution calling for a special session of the general Assembly over Russia invasion.
