A video of the reaction of a soldier surrounded by grenades dropped on him by a Ukrainian helicopter caused a wide resonance on Russian social networks.
Later, the Russian media revealed the identity of the soldier, explaining that he was from a motorized rifle battalion in the Leningrad Region.
The footage shows a soldier in a trench being shot at and grenades thrown from a helicopter, while he had the courage to push him away with several hand grenades in a row.
Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov said on his Telegram channel that the incident occurred this spring near the village of Malaya Rogan.
He explained that the serviceman involved in the incident was Aleksei S. from the 138th motorized rifle brigade and that he had survived the bombing.
He pointed to the grenade retaining ring, after removing it, the detonator exploded about 3-4 seconds after it was released, noting that the military had a few seconds to get rid of the grenade, which they did.
Under the headline “The Russian soldier is invincible,” the press service of the government of the Leningrad region wrote: “We are proud of the courage and reaction of our compatriot from the 138th rifle brigade stationed in the village of Kamenka, Vyborg district, Leningrad region. Leningrad region”.
