Amid a global state of alert, in search of the source of a missile that targeted Poland yesterday, killing two people, and after a second U.S. announcement was made to cool international tensions that have been raging against Russia in recent hours , US President Joe Biden cut the doubt with confidence.

The owner of the White House informed NATO and partners in the “big seven” (G7) that the missile that fell on the territory of Poland was fired by Ukrainian air defense.

Launched by Ukrainian security forces

He added in a statement quoted by Western media about the president to confirm what senior US officials said today, Wednesday, that preliminary results indicate that the missile was launched by Ukrainian forces.

They also added that the Ukrainians apparently intended to launch a missile to deflect an incoming Russian missile over Ukrainian airspace, but it landed in Poland, the Associated Press reported.

emergency international meeting

It is noteworthy that the leaders of the G7 countries and several NATO countries held an emergency meeting earlier on Wednesday on the sidelines of the G20 summit due to the missile crash in Poland.

On the other hand, France cautioned against rushing to identify the source of a missile, given that determining the type of missile does not necessarily mean determining the party that launched it, especially since the same type is available in several countries.

And while Polish officials were quick to point the finger at Russia, of course Moscow denied it on Tuesday, dismissing the allegations and accusations as “an escalatory provocation.”

Poland said two rockets landed in the city of Lublin on the border with Ukraine, killing two people.

The Polish Foreign Ministry said that the rocket that fell in the Pryudow region was Russian-made, and Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw does not have accurate information about the ownership of the rockets that fell on the territory of the republic.

While Russia’s responsibility for this bombing could lead to the activation of NATO’s collective defense principle, known as Article 5, according to which an attack on a coalition member is considered an attack on everyone, and thus could trigger the start of consultations on a possible military response.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that all the strikes of the Russian armed forces on the territory of Ukraine were carried out at a distance of at least 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Polish border.

This is stated in the daily report of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the progress of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on Wednesday, November 16, where spokesman Igor Konashenkov continued that the Russian armed forces had already “dealt a major blow to the military.” command and control systems of Ukraine’s troops and associated energy facilities as they were hit. All missiles were accurately targeted, and these strikes were carried out against Ukrainian targets on Ukrainian territory and at a distance of at least 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Konashenkov noted that the photographs of the wreckage found in the village of Beshevodov were unambiguously identified by Russian specialists in the military-industrial complex as part of the S-300 air defense system of the Ukrainian Air Force.

A Defense Ministry spokesman confirmed that what various Ukrainian sources and a number of officials are saying about the alleged fall of “Russian missiles” on the village of Przewodov in eastern Poland is a deliberate provocation to escalate the conflict. situation.
