The commission stated: “The President has issued a ministerial order establishing (the Higher Commission for Combating Corruption); To investigate large and important cases of corruption”, noting that “the commission includes directors of investigation and collection departments in the commission,” reports the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement stated that “the formation of this commission proceeds from the duty of the Commission on Integrity to prevent and fight corruption in the simplest and fastest way provided by law, as well as from the importance of completing the investigation of corruption cases provided for in its law, especially large and important cases of corruption and in a timely manner”.
And Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said: “The government intends to form a support group for the Ethics Commission, emphasizing that there should be no red lines in front of any corruption case linked to a political party.”
Al-Sudani “paid a visit to the headquarters of the Integrity Commission and met with the head of the commission, Judge Alaa Al-Saadi, and the forward headquarters,” the Council of Ministers said in a statement. in that.”
