The Qatari emir’s sofa reported that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he congratulated the State of Qatar on hosting the World Cup.
The Qatar News Agency reported that the Emir of Qatar highly appreciated Russia’s cooperation in organizing this global event, and also expressed gratitude and appreciation to the President of Russia for his congratulations, as well as wishes to the State of Qatar for success in hosting the tournament.
The agency added that Putin wished the Qatari team success in the tournament, which is scheduled to start on Sunday.
