The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Summit ended in the Thai capital of Bangkok under the motto “Openness, Interconnection, Balance”.
Thai Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed his hope that the economies of the member countries will work together to promote the development and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region.
He stated that the world is undergoing great change and that the environment and sustainability are critical after members adopted a closing statement that focused on the “Bangkok Goals” to advance the biocyclical and green (BCG) economy model.
It is noteworthy that the Economic Leaders Week Forum for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation region started at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, where it was opened by the Prime Minister of Thailand, General Prayut Chan-ocha, and lasted from November 14 to 19, 2022 .
APEC has 21 members: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, USA and Vietnam.
