An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the island of Timor in southeast Indonesia today.
The Euro-Mediterranean Center for Seismology said the earthquake’s epicenter occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers below sea level, at the confluence of 10.38 degrees south latitude and 123.75 degrees east longitude.
There were no immediate reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
