NASA has released satellite imagery showing Ukraine plunged into total darkness.
A snapshot of Ukraine taken on the night of November 24 showed that the country was covered in total darkness due to power outages in most major cities, with neighboring cities in Ukraine appearing lit up at night.
And Ukraine’s energy ministry said last Thursday that Russian bombing had resulted in a temporary blackout of power from all nuclear plants and most hydro and thermal power plants, while leaving most of the population without electricity.
Later, the ministry announced the restoration of power supply to critical infrastructure facilities.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said that on November 23 it conducted an intensive bombardment of Ukrainian military installations and related energy facilities.
Russian forces began bombing Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10 following a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge carried out by Ukrainian intelligence.
