Protests continued in Iran in the form of nightly demonstrations in Ahvaz and the capital Tehran, with citizens of the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz organizing a silent demonstration to denounce the regime’s crackdown on popular demonstrations in the country. As usual, Iranian security forces attacked demonstrators in the Starkhan district, in the center of Tehran’s capital, to denounce the execution of Mohsen Shakari. Reports stated that demonstrators in the Starkhan district chanted “Death to the Basij” and “Death to the child-killing regime”.
Commenting on the protests in Iran and the imposition of death sentences on protesters, the reformist leader in Iran, Mahdi Karrubi, confirmed that the execution of Mohsen Shakari was a prelude to death, according to what the powers that be would like.
Karroubi, the leader of the Iranian regime, has criticized Ali Khamenei saying he wants to warn anyone who challenges his personal tyranny through repression, while he is unaware that the theory of victory by terror is no longer effective, given that Khamenei does not care about the reality of the protest, but rather focuses only on its termination and elimination, and deliberately attributes every demonstration to the enemies in order to give legitimacy to oppression.
In Germany, Interior Minister Nancy Weser expressed her solidarity with the Iranian uprising in a video message, urging everyone to defend the Iranian people. She also addressed citizens of Iranian origin and told them: Germany will be their voice and that it will provide them with protection.
From an economic standpoint, the ailing Iranian rial has fallen to a new low against the dollar due to continued unrest and the country’s increased isolation amid Western criticism of Iran’s stringent security measures and its relationship with Russia.
To protest the death sentences handed down by Iranian authorities on demonstrators, the Iranian community in Berlin held a picket and held up banners and slogans condemning the regime’s crackdown on protesters.
