Social media pages and sites have circulated photos of Qatar’s 974 football stadium, saying it was dismantled within two, three and four days.

Many pages published photos that they said were taken from the dismantling of the 974 Stadium (Ras Abu Aboud) in the Qatari capital Doha. It is true that these are photographs of the construction and equipment of the stadium, as this is one of the eight stadiums that will host the final matches of the 2022 World Cup.

The Qatari authorities have previously decided to completely dismantle the 974 stadium after the end of the 2022 World Cup with the reuse in construction of the materials that were used in the construction of this stadium. The stadium hosted seven World Cup matches, and the last match that was played on its field between Brazil and South Korea took place on December 5 and ended with Brazil’s victory in the 1/8 finals with a score of 4: 1, and fans of the two teams took many memorable photos in front of start of the match. The stadium has a capacity of 44,000 during World Cup matches and was designed by Fenwick Iribarren Architects. It mainly used shipping containers for its construction and the reason for its name (Stadium 974) is due to the use of the same number of shipping containers in its construction, and it is also a symbol of international communication for Qatar. And the Qatari website “qatar2022” said the containers and structures would be reused, and waterfront-facing facilities would be created that “benefit the people of the community,” in addition to a vital business center.
