German-British campaign to classify the Iranian guard

Ranateh Alt, representative of the Free Democratic Party in the German Parliament, stressed the need for the immediate inclusion of the IRGC in the list of terrorist groups. And in her tweet, she pointed to the intention of the UK to include the “Revolutionary Guard” in the list of terrorist groups. And she wrote: “Germany must defend human rights more openly and quickly. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards must immediately be included in the list of terrorists.” urging the authorities to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

The representative of the “Social Democratic Party” in the German Parliament called for the exclusion of Iranian teams from international matches, according to the website “Iran International”.

This came after German Chancellor Schultz criticized the Iranian leadership in light of the country’s gross human rights violations, calling for additional sanctions against Tehran.

Germany condemned the violence of the Iranian authorities against the protesters, stressing that it is studying with Brussels the issue of including the Revolutionary Guards in the list of terrorists. Tehran called this step “irresponsible”.

In Britain, the media reported that the government of Rishi Sunak intends to include the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” in the list of terrorist organizations.

According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, preparations are under way in Britain to officially declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, which arrested 7 people associated with the United Kingdom over anti-government protests, a terrorist organization.

The move, which will be announced within a few weeks, has been backed by UK Security Secretary Tom Tugendhat and Home Secretary Soyla Braverman, a British newspaper reported.

Last week, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards arrested seven people linked to the UK in connection with anti-government protests that rocked the country following the killing of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd who was arrested for wearing “obscene clothing.”
