After regaining access to his Twitter account, Facebook and the famous photography app Instagram have restored the accounts of former US President Donald Trump. For his part, Trump commented on Meta’s announcement to lift his two-year ban on Wednesday and said that Banning is an American President from using Facebook should not be repeated.
“Facebook, which lost billions of dollars in value after banning your beloved president, i.e. me, has just announced that it will reactivate my account,” he wrote on his Truth Social website.
He also added: “Something like this should not happen to the president during his term, nor to any other person who does not deserve punishment.”
New Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk announced in a tweet last November that he would be reactivating former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
Trump’s campaign had previously filed a formal petition with parent company Facebook to unblock his account there after regaining access to his Twitter account.
The Trump campaign has not threatened legal action. Instead, she spoke about the importance of free speech and reached out to Meta, Inc. with a motion for “a meeting to discuss the immediate restoration of the platform by President Trump.”
While the Financial Times reported earlier this month that the Meta is preparing to make a strong decision regarding the return of former US President Donald Trump to Facebook.
