His Excellency Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, today held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, during which aspects of bilateral cooperation between the Organization and Turkey, as well as the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia, were discussed, the latest of which were two cases burning copies of the Koran in Sweden and the Netherlands.
An exchange of views also took place on a number of topics on the agenda of the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, which will be held in Mauritania on March 16-17, 2023.
His Excellency the Secretary General briefed the Minister on the results of his recent visit to Mauritania and on the ongoing preparations for the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers.
