The President of Colombia and Stavo Petro called on Colombians to demonstrate on February 14 in support of his health care reform, while the right-wing opposition is expected to demonstrate opposition to the head of state’s policies the next day. The President wrote on his Twitter account: “Join me on February 14th. May all the Colombian people be healthy… From Piazza Bolivar in Bogota, I will speak to the Colombians who have gathered in all the public squares of the country, changes and reforms have come.
Petro came to power in August and introduced a series of ambitious reforms that he hopes to implement during the four years he is in office (2022-2026), namely: de-participation of the private sector in health care, termination of future contracts for gas exploration . and changing the pension and labor system, in addition to other things.
