The Daily Mail reported that Qatari investors are planning to make a major financial offer to buy Manchester United, a rival in the English Premier League. United declined to comment when contacted by Reuters. Ineos, owned by Jim Ratcliffe, made an offer to buy United last month after the Glazer family, which owns the club, announced in November that it was exploring available options, including a sale or new investment. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Qatar Sports Investments, which owns Paris Saint-Germain, is considering acquiring or buying United or Liverpool shares.
United’s last title was in 2017 when they won the Europa League and the League Cup. Manager Eric Ten Hag’s team is third in the league with 42 points from 21 games, eight points behind leaders Arsenal who have played 20 games.
