The second beta version of iOS 16.4 provided to developers today has a few new features. Still, it offers a key update for Apple Books users. That change is the reintroduction of an option for the page-turning animation.
Apple redesigned the Books app for iOS 16 by removing the typical page-turning animation and replacing it with a slide animation, which is more straightforward. Despite this, many Apple Books customers wished for a different option.
Users can now select a page-turning animation thanks to a new toggle that has been added to the Themes and Settings section of the Books app in the beta version of iOS 16.4. Curl, Slide, and None are the available options. The slide is the default animation in iOS 16, Curl is the animation used in iOS 15 and prior versions, and None is an even simpler animation that moves from one page to the next. For individuals who prefer to read on their iPads, these capabilities can also be found in the iPadOS 16.4 update.
