According to Bloomberg, Michael Abbott, Apple’s vice president of cloud engineering, intends to leave the firm in April. According to the story, Abbott manages Apple’s cloud platform for services like iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and others.

Abbott served as an executive at digital firms like Twitter, Microsoft, and Palm before joining Apple in 2018. According to the report, his team at Apple had significantly invested in developing the organization’s internal cloud infrastructure. Still, it had cut back the efforts in favor of using servers hosted by Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
