The Ministry of Finance of the State of Kuwait sent the United Security and Cleaning Services Company to obtain Souq Sharq, and the company distributed its personnel to all outlets and market facilities as part of the process of obtaining it, which it accepted in the presence of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Earlier, the internal affairs authorities and judicial police officers registered their presence in the market in preparation for the eviction process in favor of the Ministry of Finance. Security forces sources said groups linked to the Interior Ministry did not close the outlets, but were present in front of them as part of the preparatory process if necessary, while the market was moving normally.

On the other hand, representatives of the National Real Estate Company stated that they have not yet received any decision from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to release the market, indicating that it will continue to manage the market if there is no clear decision from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The atmosphere of the domestic market at various points of sale is actually going well so far, except that the relevant source said that the Ministry of Finance will change the locks on the doors of the market after the procedures for obtaining it from the “National Real Estate”. Security forces are still present in front of Shark Market in large numbers in accordance with official instructions to force the market to be evacuated in favor of the Ministry of Finance.

On the other hand, a security source confirmed that the forces would not intervene unless they found objection from the company managing the National Real Estate market, while pointing out that the eviction would entail transferring the market to one of the state entities. The internal security forces that were called in to force the evacuation of the Souq Shark market were formed from the public security, rescue and traffic sectors, and a number of members of the judiciary were also involved in the operation.

According to a related source, the Ministry of Finance is expected to carry out the process of changing the locks of outlets ordered by the Ministry of the Interior in accordance with the market capture process. On the other hand, a source at Al-Wataniya stated that the company is still running the market, has not made any transfers and is awaiting the outcome of the case.

Patrols closed the entrance to Sharq Market due to security presence as part of an attempt by the Ministry of Finance to take over the market. And the Finance Ministry last Thursday warned the National Real Estate Company to “surrender the market before March 5, otherwise the eviction will be forced.”
