The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, represented by the religious attache in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, held the longest iftar in the history of the Republic of Indonesia as part of the program of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques to break the fast. which the Ministry continues to implement in the cities and states of the Republic of Indonesia in the presence of the Governor of West Sumatra, engineer Mahildi Ansar Allah, and the religious attache of the Royal Embassy in Jakarta, Ahmed bin Isa Al-Khazmi, as well as a number of political and Islamic figures and leaders of universities and Islamic associations in state.
According to official Indonesian statistics, more than 8,000 Indonesian citizens from various walks of life attended the table, which stretched for 1,200 meters in the city of Padang, from various walks of life.
The Governor of West Sumatra said that the Indonesian government will strive to have this table in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest table in the history of the country, expressing gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. and His Highness the Crown Prince – God bless them – for this great honor. He expressed the hope that such good deeds would lead to strengthening relations between the governments and peoples of the two fraternal countries, once again thanking the leadership of the Kingdom, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and the religious attaché issues, as well as all those who contributed to the success of this noble work.
He noted that the programs and initiatives taken by the Kingdom and their positive effect strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between Muslim children and other societies.
For his part, Al-Hazmi expressed his deep gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – may God bless him – for this generous donation, emphasizing that this table is the longest in the history of the country, and it was agreed with ca. 40 restaurants and 400 workers were involved to complete it.
