This initiative is open to participation from just those mobile applications (apps) whose creators employ the App Bundle format. This format ensures that only the required materials are downloaded to your phone when you install an application.
Those interested in participating in the auto-archive initiative can do so by attempting to download a new application even when their mobile device has reached its storage capacity limit. After users have begun the installation process, they will be prompted by a pop-up window to decide whether or not they want to allow auto-archive. If the user gives their permission, all unused applications from the past will immediately start being archived to make room on the device for the newly installed program.
